- This site does lots of things! It has several kinds of dictionaries (including one for pronunciation), a thesaurus, a translator, a currency converter, an acronym "decoder" and much more.
- AltaVista Translation Service
- This site provides free translation of web pages or text from English to French, German, Spanish, Portuguese, and Italian-- or vice versa. The translations are far from perfect; sometimes they're quite laughable--especially when idioms are involved. However, this service can provide a usable starting point for translating documents.

- Britannica On-line
- The on-line version of the venerable Encyclopedia Britannica. Use the search function to find information about your topic. Britannica On-line also provides links to websites relevant to your topic. Extremely useful, but you'll need a password. Try accessing Britannica Online through the OSU Valley Library Electronic Reference Center.
