What can you do in Corvallis?
A nice place to start is Welcome to Corvallis, with
links to a lot of Corvallis information.
Another good assortment
of information is the Corvallis Convention and
Visitor's Bureau. You can search their pages for specific
information of interest. This one takes a bit longer to load than
Welcome to Corvallis, but the ability to search the site may make it
worth the wait.
Interested in entertainment? Check
the Corvallis Live
entertainment listings and the Corvallis Gazette-Times entertainment section. There really is something
to do in
Corvallis in the evening!
For information about apartments, housing, and news about Corvallis,
check the
Corvallis Gazette-Times, the local newspaper in its online
version.
Tired of dorm food? OSU has a list of
Corvallis Restaurants and Eating Areas. Quite a few choices, and more
all the time.
Summer is the season for Da Vinci Days, one of the best times to be in
Corvallis. See information about Da Vinci days.
The Benton
County Fair is another great summer attraction,
and it's located very close to campus.
Now if these
don't appeal to you, keep in mind that Corvallis is close to
many other
places, such as:
- Skiing at Willamette Pass and Hoodoo Ski Bowl -
the lines are short and prices very reasonable, and both of these are less than two hours by car
from Corvallis.
- Shopping - Remember that there is no sales
tax in Oregon,
so you can save money buying things here. The only
other state in the
US with no sales tax is New Hampshire on the East
Coast of the US.
Nearby places include
Valley River Center in Eugene and Gateway Mall in Springfield (45
minutes away)
- Many spots in Portland, just
about an hour and a
half away.
