I am a professor of mathematics. My main interests are mathematically modeling deterministic systems and the ordinary and partial differential equations which arise from these models. The models I have mainly dealt with arise in modeling underground phenomena, particularly the flow of fluids in a porous medium and biodegradation, free boundary value problems and change of phase, and fluid mechanics. I am also interested in chaotic dynamical systems and systems far from equilibrium. I am an applied mathematician.

On the strictly physical side, I am interested in continuum mechanics as well as classical mechanics.

On the pure mathematics side, I am interested in topological methods in nonlinear boundary value problems for differential equations and differential inclusions. This involves the derivation of a prior bounds and applying fix point theory.

In the past, I have been interested in numerical analysis and mathematical tomography. Although I no longer work in those areas, I am still interested in the developments in the field.

In general I am interested in most areas os mathematics. Among my mathematical hobbies is the history of mathematics and science. I am also interested in basic physical principles, particularly in the macroscopic world. But I enjoy most applying mathematics to problems in engineering.
